PREPARING YOUR QUILT FOR LONGARMING
-Take care in applying borders to your quilt. Make sure they are applied evenly using the average measurement of your sides when determining border length. An evenly applied border is essential. The flatter your quilt lays, the better your finished quilt will look.
Fullness and/or puckers within a border cannot always be quilted out. We try our best to work in some fullness, but cannot guarantee that puckers and tucks will not be sewn in. Should an issue arise during the process of quilting your quilt in regards to excess fullness, you will be contacted and given the opportunity to pick up the quilt to fix it, agree to proceed with quilting as is, or I may offer to make adjustments here. There may be a resulting additional charge, depending on the issue.
-Make sure all seams are secure and your threads are clipped. Unclipped threads can show through lighter fabrics.
-Mark the top edge of the quilt top with a safety pin.
-Press your quilt top. If any excessive creases require pressing here in the studio, there will be an additional charge.
-Do not layer your top, batting and backing. They are loaded onto the machine separately.
-Quilt backing must be at least 4-6 inches wider on each side, top and bottom, than your quilt top. As should your batting if you bring your own.
-Trim the top and bottom of your backing so they are straight and square. This ensures the quilt loads onto the machine straight.
-Press your backing. If any excessive creases require pressing here in the studio, there will be an additional charge.
-Mark the top edge of your backing with a safety pin.
